Tableau IF Statement to Power

Hi everyone,

Reaching out for help on a Power BI issue for a marketing report.

  • Does anyone know how to translate this simple IF statement to a Power BI custom measure?

Prior Year Leads = if [SF_INQUIRY_DATE_FY] = 'FY 2020' then [SF_LEAD] end

Basically, I’m looking to say that if the leads are in fiscal year 2020, then call it ‘Prior Year Leads’. In other words, how do you translate IF statement from Tableau to Power BI.

Thank you!

Hi @NLUAnalytics ,

If you wanna create a calculated column,it would be like:

Prior Year Leads = if([SF_INQUIRY_DATE_FY] = 'FY 2020' , [SF_LEAD] , blank())

If you wanna create a measure,then it would be like:

Prior Year Leads = if(MAX([SF_INQUIRY_DATE_FY]) = 'FY 2020' , MAX([SF_LEAD]) , blank())

Best Regards,
Kelly

@NLUAnalytics , If in dax would be like

Prior Year Leads = if([SF_INQUIRY_DATE_FY] = 'FY 2020' , [SF_LEAD] , blank())

This Year vs last year
YTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESYTD('Date'[Date],"12/31"))
Last YTD Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESYTD(dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,Year),"12/31"))
This year Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESYTD(ENDOFYEAR('Date'[Date]),"12/31"))
Last year Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),DATESYTD(ENDOFYEAR(dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,Year)),"12/31"))

Year behind Sales = CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]),dateadd('Date'[Date],-1,Year))

To get the best of the time intelligence function. Make sure you have a date calendar and it has been marked as the date in model view. Also, join it with the date column of your fact/s. Refer :radacad sqlbi My Video Series Appreciate your Kudos.

Can you share sample data and sample output in table format? Or a sample pbix after removing sensitive data.
