Table value does not change on first refresh

Hi,

I have a power bi file which has two tables - one for data and another which returns the name of the excel file that is used to pull the data. I have parameters that allow me to choose a file from a folder and the data table updates with the data from that specific file.  However, the file name is not updated on the first refresh but it does update if I refresh power bi again. 

Would be great if somebody knows why this might be happening.

this very much depends on how you have structured your ETL. It will also likely raise the formula firewall alarms.

Please provide more details on your Power Query queries.
