TOTALYTD does not work as hoped

I want to create a new column in my table where it calculates the SUM of all values from the first day of the year to the certain date of that row.

However after I give the formula for the calculation:

Where the goods I want to sum are this column:

Schermafbeelding 2019-11-23 om 13.13.00.png

And the dates are in this column:

Schermafbeelding 2019-11-23 om 13.12.33.png

The results are here:

Schermafbeelding 2019-11-23 om 13.13.13.png

As you see, it does not sum anything, it just gives the same value as GOODS.

I have tried so many different formulas but it just gives the same column over and over again.

Can somebody please help?

Hi @Anonymous

try without .Date and with filter ALL

TOTALYTD(Sum('InvHdr'[GOODS]);'InvHdr'[Date];ALL('InvHdr'))

@Anonymous first, for any date calculations, it is best practice to add date table in your model. There are many blog post regarding how to add a date table in your model.

Once you have date table, set relationship it with your transaciton table and then add a MEASURE not COLUMN for TOTALYTD.
