TOP N Columns

Hello everyone!

I'm new to power BI and I'm strugling a bit on creating a chart with the rejection causes of a certain machine.

All my data sources have the following structure:

Capture.PNG

The target is to follow the trend of the different rejection causes on a line chart. My problem is that some machines have 50+ different rejection causes being impossible to read the chart with so many lines. Is it possible to only display the TOP N rejection causes for the period of time filtered into the chart?

Thanks in advance!

Nuno

Hi @Anonymous ,

Are there more than 50 Reject Reason columns? We can pivot all the "Reject  Reason" Column, they will become two column, one is the reason number, another is the reason value, they we can put a top N filter on the reason column to meet your requirement.

If it doesn't meet your requirement, Could you please show the exact expected result based on the Tables that you have shared?

Best regards,

Hi, thanks for the feedback!

Yes, depending on the machine type I can have tables with 15 to 50 different reject reasons and therefore 15 to 50 reject reason columns.

How can I pivot the columns like you are proposing?

Hi @Anonymous ,

We can use ctrl to select muli columns, and then use the pivot feature.  If you have any other questions about this scenario, please kindly ask here and we will try to resolve it.
