Sunburst labels disappearing

I'm working on a sunburst diagram and published a dashboard. I then copied the desktop pbix file and hid some unrelated pages (to prepare the dashboard for a different audience) and then published another version of the dashboard.

While the data labels appear as they should on my original file and the first dashboard I published, they are appearing blank when published from the new file. To try and work around this, I then went back to my original pbix file and saved as another version and then uploaded this and I'm seeing the same error occur. I can't see any difference in the set up of the charts or their underlying data. I have tried reducing the font size of the data labels to but this has no effect. Other visuals don't appear to be affected and it's a MAQ sunburst.

As I don't seem to be able to paste in a screenshot here, just to clarify, I'm referring to the data labels (ie. field names), not the detail labels of values around the outside (this is turned off). Is anyone able to offer any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi @lee-robinson ,

Did you mean the data label shows fine in desktop and after you published to power bi service, it shows blank?

If so, I have test this scenario in my environment but it works fine both in desktop and service, maybe you can consider the following checklists:

  1. Recreate a visual and publish to service
  2. When you publish to serivice, try to not hide any pages
  3. Try to publish to different workspace to test
  4. Try to use the latest version of power bi desktop to publish(https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=58494)

If above all not help, could you please share a sample .pbix file for further discussion.

Best Regards,
Yingjie Li
