Solved: Summing and then grouping into predefined buckets ...

Thank you ahead of time. Please bare with me, I tried searching for the answer, watching videos, and throwing things at the wall, but to no avail. Part of the problem is that I'm not exactly sure how to frame my question to find a solution.

The end result of the report is that a user can select a range of dates in a slicer to get a summed total of user check-ins during that period, and then get the total number of people who fit in distinct buckets (1-4, 5-9, 10+ Check-ins).

When I watch videos on binning (which seems like it could do it) I believe I run into an issue because, I have to count the "usage date" field to get the total amount of check-ins. The fields I see in videos are not available to me when I do it.

Any help/direction/prayers would be gratefully appreciated.

Hi @w00zey,

I'd like to suggest you create a calculated table with all category types, then you can write a measure formula with switch function and selected value to redirect to different expressions:

In addition, you can also try to add a custom with these category types and use it as legends of your visuals and power bi will show the graph that is filtered and aggregate by these categories.
