Sum, agregrate muliple date values into a single value

Hi Experts

Having a great deal of difficulty in adding up mutilple dates with the same date stamp into one single value
Column A Column B
March 2017 1
March 2017 2
March 2017 4

Currently this is what I see in the master table.... would like to add the date table format in power bi so the end user see.
March 2017
Column b 7

And so on for other periods...across the columns for any year..

I think the column is defined as text. Please convert the column type to Numeric, you will get the SUM options.

Thanks

Hi Experts

How would you calculate the row count for two date parameters based on a filter on a second column

So....I would like to know the count of values between 1.1.2016 to 1.1.2017 where the value of OHA is true in the OHA column.

Sorry cannot post a same file from my location even with dummy data...

What I have in mind was
= calculate (countrows(case date),case date[oha] = "true", filter ( here should be the date ranges) using AND...this is where I got stuck..

If this is the correct way in DAX to write the function..
