I've seen this question asked on here and every answer suggests using the Matrix visual. However, in the Matrix visual every attribute I add to the rows becomes its own grouping level.
I want to have a tabular view of data where I can have any number of attributes along the row axis and group those with subtotals by any other set of attributes. For example I want to see Purchase Order Amounts for Vendor Name, Project ID, Department Name, Customer Name and show subtotals by Project Type. Within each Project Type grouping, the attribute values for Vendor Name, Project ID, Department Name, Customer Name should all be on the same line (not possible with the Matrix visual).

Thanks!. This has helped me complete couple of reports. However, this technique fails when the user wants to filter dynamically. Have you thought of any work around?
Also, this appears to be a common reporting requirement especially with legacy background. Is MS working on any solution to support this? Has this been brought to Core team? Thanks
