Sub-category columns Excel

Hi All,

I am trying to create a report from an excel file but my file data is set-up such that the column has a sub category. e.g

I have this as an excel format, how do I subcategorize the column in PowerBI?

Many thanks,

Hi,

I solved a similar problem here - Rearrange a multi heading dataset into a single heading one which is Pivot ready.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Thank you! This is very helpful. Just not sure if how this will work on extremely massive data set.

Many thanks,

Matt

What do you want your data to look like?

Hi HotChili,

I want my data to be something drillable in the columns section. So basically drill per country and then per city.

Many thanks,

Matt

Hi @vanquisher11

If your data looks like the same as below data table, you may use Matrix visual to get the visual as below. If not, you may try to use 'Pivot column' to adjust the table like below data table, then you'll get the matrix visual.

OK, I would like you to be more specific please.  Draw a picture or show me a tabular version of what your data should look like before it gets put into a visualisation
