Quite simple, I have a column of data with standard date formatted data, e.g. 2000-02-20, 2001-10-15, etc.
The 'Data Type' for this column in the Query Editor is set to 'Date', and the values look just as above (2000-02-20, etc).
WHY when I close this and look at the 'Data' page, PowerBI prepends a day of week to all of these???? I dont want that! Now when I add the date field to disply on a report, I get that day of week.
How can I "turn that off"? This should NOT be the default behavior! Never modify someones data unless they choose to do it!

you not being 100 clear on the problem, can you provide screen shots (with a view of your steps in power query) - the only way your data can change is if you did something to change it
