Stop Table Fields From Being Sorted Alphabetically?

All,

In the Report View... The side bar with Table Fields alphabetizes a table's fields.

Is there any way to have PBI not sort the fields into alphabetical order, but leave them in the order in which they appear within the source table?

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks for any insight.

Jase.

As far as I'm aware this is not an option currently in Power BI.  As a workaround, you could try adding a number to the beginning of your field names so they they appear in proper order.

If you add an index column to the source table then under modeling, sort your display column by the index column that will carry over to your report.

That is a way of sorting the records (rows) in a table.

I'm referring to the fields (column headings).

Ah... Thank you for this link. I voted.

Yes, the only way I could think to do it was to prefix alpha/numeric to the column names. Not a very elegant solution, but it will have to do for now.

Thanks again.
