Sorting by Date (M/D/YYYY)

I am unable to sort date by year in slicer. The problem is when i am clicking on dropdown there date is showing month wise for both years 2017 and 2018 together. so i want the year 2017 should come first before year 2018.. Hope you understand my query

Check your data type, it's probably text rather than date

@Anonymous If you want to retain the same format in the slicer (i.e. MMDDYYYY) then use the "Sort by Column" option to sort this field on the proper date format.
