Sort orde rnot working for Date

Another sort issue. I mean even small things like sorting is a issue in power bi. In my graph i have a date , i clicked on the 3 dots and selected the date field to be sorted on. Then i clicked on ascending and descending. In either case it is not sorting. FYI i am using a direct query for the dataset.

It is reading the date as a string and sorting it aphabetically.  Can you add a CAST ( ... AS DATE ) in your query?
