Sort by Column (again)

I am sorry...this will appear a FAQ, but I clearly am missing something very simple about 'sort by column'

If i enter a simple table

SortOrder  Category

a                 aa

b                 cc

c                 bb

If i then add a very simple table visual:

Category

aa

bb

cc

It is obviously sorting by ascending Category.  If I then select the field 'Sort Order' and go to Modelling\Sort by Column and tick SortOrder....wouldn't I expect to see:

Category

aa

cc

bb

?

But I don't...it doesn't sort by the column I have selected.  Plainly I am missing somthing super obvious.

Hi @ghdunn ,

So based on your ex, go to modeling and click on sort by, and click the column [Sort Order]  to get the order in the visual below.

Notice that I have Cat selected and then I picked the other column
