I have a list of data with 3 possible values - B-CS, C-CS and LT.
When applying the slicer it defaults to sorting alphabetically; is it possible to sort by - LT, B-CS and then C-CS?

hi, @jeve
If the rank is a column not a measure? Measure won't show in it.
If you still have the problem, please share a simple pbix file for us have a test.
By the way, the column should be created in edit queries, not a calculate column.
and here is my sample pbix file, please try it.
Best Regards,
Lin
HI, @jeve
Try this simple way:
Step1:
Create a rank column for this column in Edit Queries
Step2:
Then select [Task Type] filed, click Modeling->Sort by column->selected [Rank]
Result:

Thank you. It helps a lot.
Hi Lin,
Thanks for the reponse. I've done all the steps but when I click on "Sort by Column" there's no drop down option? Any idea what could be the cause of that?

Hi @jeve . For me, the "Sort by Column" drop-down only becomes enabled when I select both the slicer and the associated table in the Fields pane. Also, the "Sort by Column" drop-down does not show all fields within the table. It shows columns but no measures. I hope this is helpful.
hi @jeve
What you can do is add a number infront of the sort order that you prefer. Then you can sort it. Its workaround.
Else you can create an index for the sort in edit query. While visualising try to select the column ( i.e. the column which you want to sort and then goto modeling tab and specify the Sort Order --> Index column.
Thats all i can think of 🙂
Thanks
