Hey all,
I have a matrix with premium, loss and profit as rows and years as column.
For some reason it is sorted ascending by year by default, but I would like to have it sorted descending by year. Is that possible to do?
I can only see the possibilities to sort it by premium, profit or loss.
Thanks,
Susanne
@Anonymous ,
Click on the ellipse on the right-top of the visual and select "Sort descending" as below:

Dear @v-yuta-msft ,
interestingly, it doens't show year as a possibility to sort it.
So far my format is:
2017 2018 2019 2020
premium
loss
profit
I have obtained it by using year as columns and then switch "show in rows" on for my values premium loss and profit.
The only way to solve it is to use year as rows and then switch off "show in rows " for my values. Then its possible to sort year descending.
premium loss profit
2020
2019
2018
2917
But is there a way to do this without having to switch the axes to keep year as columns?
E.g. with a measure or with another visualisation?

If a column can be introduced in the data that will assign the Highest year with the lowest value like:
year | sort by |
2017 | 4 |
2018 | 3 |
2019 | 2 |
2020 | 1 |
Then year column can be sorted by Sort by column like below:
This will automatically rearrange the matrix from Highest year to lowest year.
Let me know in case of any queries or if it works for you.
Dear @Anonymous ,
thanks for your support, that means I first have to create the sort column before importing the data into power bi, I guess?
I will give it a try 😃

Click the year header to again and the triangle will show which order it is sorted.
If it helps, mark it as a solution
Kudos are nice too
Hi @Anonymous
You should be able to simply click on the column heading to change the sort order from asc to desc.
Best regards,
Martyn
