Need help on below scenario.
I have employee table with DeptID, Name, Salary columns.
I need out put like total salary of all employees group by deptiD as shown in the below screenshot.

According to your description, i create a table to test:
Please choose Matrix visual and it automatically shows the total salary for each Dept ID:
Or you can create a measure:
Sum salary of each Dept ID = SUM('Table'[Salary])
Then choose a Table visual and it shows:

You can get almost similar in Matrix.
You need to change the Stepped layout - off. And drill till last level
