Slowdown when creating a new blank query or new blank measure

I have a couple of large, complex files, and I accept that when I run some refreshes and calculations there will be a delay while Power BI works.

However I have encountered situations where adding a new blank query (in the query editor) or trying to make a new measure in the main desktop program causes a 20 second to one minute delay while Power BI is 'Working on it'.

I can understand why there would be a delay when a new table has been added , or the text of a measure entered, a new measure placed into a table or visual for the first time.

But is there any way to tell PBI that I want to add several measures/queries before it forms all the imports and links?

I suppose that this is part of the general issue that PBI has inadequate facilities for organising measures.

Hi @TM_Visual

It seems there is no better way to do that. For your requirement, you may submit an idea here.
