Slicers selection is retained in Power BI Desktop

Hi All,

For the attached pbix file.

I see the slicer selection is retained.

Is there any way to remove that. ?

I selected Vendor V1, Selected Product A1 selected catgory A and then Product as A2.

Now when I change the selection to V2, the earlier selection of Product A1 is reatined which I don't want.

Hi @akj2784,

Not able to access the file. Make sure the link is public.

Prateek Raina

are you able to access now ? Not sure how to make it public.

Hi @akj2784,

You can do this by using Chiclet slicers.

Refer to the this PBIX file and let me know if this works for you.

Not able to save the pbix file .

Chicklet has record limitation. In my real time dataset Slicers have a lot of values and it gives error "Too many values..... " when I use Chicklet

Try Hierachy slicers. They might handle both the scenarios (Data + Selection)

Unfortunetly that also has limitations.

Hi @akj2784

I don't think then there is any solution to it.

Only workaround which I think is, You can create a Clear Filter button near your slicers.

On hitting this button, it will clear all the selections in the slicers and then you are good to go again. It will not retain the selections.

ok.. Thanks Prateek for the reply.
