Slicer showing incorrect max values on table view

Hi,

I'm producing a report which shows how much money has been made by each of our sales agents, and showing this on a table.

I'm trying to add a slider slicer, so the users can filter on min/max ranges.

The slicer is not working properly on the max values. When I set the slider to show £1 it updates the table to show a max value of £32.98, when I set the max filter value to be £10, the table shows a max value of £304.85.

If I enter the min value on the slicer to be £5, this is refelcted correctly in the table.

The data source is from SQL, and the value that I am filtering on is directly from the table and has no calculations againt it.

When I update the min and max values from the filters on the visual pane, the table values update correctly, so it is just the slicer that is causing an issue.  There is no scaler function in the slicer menu options for me to enable/disable that could be causing this.

Any help to solve this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Anish

Hi @dosania ,

Take the data I reproduces as an example. As you can see, the value is discontinuous.

1.12.3.0.PNG

So when you choose "Between" as the type of slicer, It looks like you can choose any range between these(Fake), but in fact, the filter is based on the actual value in the table(True).

1.12.3.3.gifIf you are confused, setting the type of slicer to List or create a continuous table may help you understand it

Please take a look at the pbix file here.

@dosania Can you share mock data the recreates the problem? Please see this post regarding How to Get Your Question Answered Quickly: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Community-Blog/How-to-Get-Your-Question-Answered-Quickly/ba-p/38490

The most important parts are:
1. Sample data as text, use the table tool in the editing bar
2. Expected output from sample data
3. Explanation in words of how to get from 1. to 2.

@dosania - To be clear, you are using a range slicer? Can you share your PBIX or data so that we can recreate the issue?

Thanks @Greg_Deckler . I am using a range slicer. I'm afraid I'm not able to share my PBIX or data due to the sensitive nature of the information it holds.
