Slicer or DAX filter of resources from MS Project

I have a requirement to produce two reports, preferably within the same PBIX for moving to Online,

The first is to show resources assigned to a Project Manager’s projects, by project, and the effort required from those resources – sorted that one fairly quickly, with Slicers and using the Sync Slicer.

The second is proving more challenging. For those resources, shown as assigned in the first report, I need to show their assignments across all Project Managers projects, not just the projects managed by the PM in the first report.

I have a selection page with 2 slicers, the first slicer selects the Project Manager and is applied to the selection page itself and the first report page, the second slicer shows the resources used in projects managed by the Project Manager, as selected in the first slicer, and is used on the second report page.

However, the second report, instead of showing only the resources resulting from the first slicer, shows all resources on all projects.

I’ve seen a solution, to another complex slicer requirement, that suggests DAX code but I’m unsure how to fit to my requirements and, worse still, how to implement the DAX code, so any suggestions how to resolve and then implement would be most welcome.

Thanks and regards

Fred

Hi @MitieFred

I have made some test on your problem, however i'm not able to find any wise solution.

Could you show me the solution you found so i can learn from that and realize whether this can help for your case?

Best Regards

Maggie

Hi @v-juanli-msft  (Maggie)

Apologies for the delay, work got in the way 🙂

There were a couple of hits I found when searching, <this one> and <this one> but I wasn't able to fit them to my situation, or know how to actually implement them.

Cheers

Fred
