Hi,
I'm modelling some data and one of the things i'm doing is calculating previous years sales over a given period (Fiscal Week), the measure i'm using for this is:
Previous Year Sales =
VAR CurrentWeek = SELECTEDVALUE('EPOS YOY'[Fiscal Week] )
VAR CurrentYear = SELECTEDVALUE('EPOS YOY'[Year])
Return
CALCULATE([Total sales],
FILTER(all('EPOS YOY'),
'EPOS YOY'[Fiscal Week] = CurrentWeek && 'EPOS YOY'[Year] = CurrentYear - 1))
The data is at a individual product level, with multiple products being associated to a single brand.
The slicer i want to use is by brand, however whenever i put a slicer in It always returns the total sales value, rather than just the sales for that specfic brand.
I'm stumped as to why I can't make this work, my guess is due to the '[Total Sales]' part of the measure i'm using but can't figure out how to amend my measure.
The measure i'm using for total sales is:
Total sales = SUMX('EPOS YOY','EPOS YOY'[Sales])
Any help would be really appreciated, I cangive some more information it would be useful
Many Thanks

Hi @Morriana ,
Try to modify the measure like this:
Previous Year Sales =
VAR CurrentWeek =
SELECTEDVALUE ( 'EPOS YOY'[Fiscal Week] )
VAR CurrentYear =
SELECTEDVALUE ( 'EPOS YOY'[Year] )
VAR Brand =
SELECTEDVALUE ( 'EPOS YOY'[Brand] )
RETURN
CALCULATE (
[Total Sales],
FILTER (
ALL ( 'EPOS YOY' ),
'EPOS YOY'[Fiscal Week] = CurrentWeek
&& 'EPOS YOY'[Year] = CurrentYear - 1
&& 'EPOS YOY'[Brand] = Brand
)
)
Total Sales = SUM('EPOS YOY'[Sales])

@Morriana Hmmm, not sure why. Can you share pbix file , remove any sensitive information before sharing. seems like I'm missing something here. It shouldn't stop working at all.

@Morriana I see, change this measure, I missed this, basically change ALL to ALLSELECTED
Previous Year Sales =
VAR CurrentWeek = SELECTEDVALUE('EPOS YOY'[Fiscal Week] )
VAR CurrentYear = SELECTEDVALUE('EPOS YOY'[Year])
Return
CALCULATE([Total sales],
FILTER(allselected('EPOS YOY'),
'EPOS YOY'[Fiscal Week] = CurrentWeek && 'EPOS YOY'[Year] = CurrentYear - 1)

@parry2k Thtat didn't work i'm afraid, it actually stopped the measure from working entirely.
@Morriana why not your total sales is just a simple sum
Total sales = SUM('EPOS YOY'[Sales])
