Slicer for both ROWS and COLUMNS

Hi folks,

I am working on a product comparison table where I lay out features of several instruments.

It looks like this :

CategorySub-CategoryFeatureInstrument 1 Instrument 2Instrument 3
HardwareDisplaySizeLargeMediumSmall
HardwareDisplayTouch-ScreenNoYesYes
Associated ReagentsLoading on instrumentMax loading capacity100 tubes150 tubes

200 tubes

Associated Reagentsloading on instrumenttool required for loadingYes, tube handlerNo

No

So I would like to add slicers on the following elements

  • Category
  • Sub-Category
  • Feature
  • Instrument

The idea would be that our sales people can choose

  1. What features they want to compare
  2. On which instrument they want to perform a comparison.

The result would look like the following :

Category

Sub-CategoryFeatureInstrument 2Instrument 3
HardwareDisplayTouch-ScreenYesYes

I tried with unpivot but haven't been able to make it work, especially since I want slicer to go in both ROW and COLUMN direction.

But maybe I didn't look at it deep enough? Anyway, your help is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Best,

Thomas

Hi @Anonymous

On Power query you need to select the 3 instruments and then unpivot now set up a matrix in the following  way:

  • Rows:
    • Category
    • Sub-Category
    • Feature
  • Columns
    • Instrument
  • Values
    • Values

then setup your slicers.

Check PBIX file attach.
