Slicer Output Problem

I have a very simple visual. I created a table (using Enter Data) which looks like this:

Table.jpg

I then created a column

Column.jpg

And then dragged to display the Options value as a slicer, the Options value as a Card, and the Selection value as a Card.

It doesn't work as I expected it to. When I click the slicer, changing my selection between A and B, the Options value changes to what I selected, bu the Selection value doesn't. This must be something dumb I'm doing wrong...but I don't know what.

With A selected:

A.jpg

With B selected:

B.jpg

You can't create a column like that. Columns in tables are static and not impacted by user interaction with slicers. You will need a measure instead of a column.
