Showing a custom formatted measure in a bar visual without loosing the number information

Hi,

I have a measure wich is just a sum.

I have a second measure wich calculates the chi sqare value.

I now want to display the results next to the sum with conditional formatting like this:

show_sum = if(chi_square > 2.71, format(measure, "# ▲"), format(measure, "#"))

this works in a matrix:

but not in a bar chart because this measure returns only a string... and not a number anymore.

in excel it is possible to do that:

Is there a workaround in Power BI?

Thanks

elaj

Hi @elaj ,

Unfortunately, icon can only be set in matrix and table visual for the time being.

You could submit your idea to help improve power bi.

Liang

Hi @elaj ,

I don't think this is possible. Have you tried checking out any custom visuals or some chart where you can show a bar chart with a table below with these icons like Line and Stacked column chart with table custom visual:

Thanks,

Hi @elaj ,

Have you tried checking the icon formatting in power BI similar to that in excel?

Refer following article for this:

Thanks,

Pragati

Yes. The problem is that you dont have the option to use conditional formatting in a bar visual for your measure... its only possible in a matrix.

As i mentioned... i want it to show up in a bar visual like that:
