Show cumulative stepped down total

I need some help in getting a remainder total, stepping down from the previous total, if that make sense.

This is from excel, but something I am looking for:

MonthNeededRecordedRemaining
May60456
June561838
July38236
August36036
Total 24

T1R = 'Daily Certification Full'[T1N] - SUMX(FILTER('Daily Certification Full','Daily Certification Full'[Index]<=EARLIER('Daily Certification Full'[Index])),'Daily Certification Full'[T1S])

Index is an indexed column and could it be the order of the data that is throwing this off?  Is data sorted by creation of the record?
