Hi,
I currently use the subsequent date table in my data model:
In many reports, i use a True/False button where the data field "IsManagementOverviewCurrentPeriod" is allocated and "True" is preselected to ensure that the data from the latest evaluation period is automatically filtered. The column "DateKey" is connected to the fact tables.
This works just fine, if i want to show the data from the relevant month automatically but is a problem, if i want to show a visual, where i need to display the progress of the entire year based on the year of the selected "DateKey". Currently, the visual only shows the data from 07/2020 but the desired outcome should be like this:
If have tried to remove filters via ALL, ALLEXCEPT but were not able to create a useful result.
I would appreciate, if you have a solutions for my problem or can give me a userful hint.
Thank you,
Best regards,
Reinhard

Hi,
i have already done that but there is still the need for an additional slicer to set the correct year.
I solved the problem for now by adding an additional slicer in between the initial slicer and the visual, where the year of the current monthly evaluation period is automatically preselected. This way the user only needs to use the additonal slicer, if he/she wants to select previous years' data.
Thank you for your input.

@waldnerr , Where is YTD used here? In case you have date table you can always build YTD using time intelligence.
For restrict, the month prefer relative date filter at the visual/page level choose this year
example of YTD
YTD Sales = CALCULATE([measure],DATESYTD('Date'[Date],"12/31"))
As long as the month year is coming from date table format does not matter. It should have month and year.
Hi,
the problem is, that the preselected value "TRUE" from the data field "IsManagmentOverviewCurrentPeriod" only selects period 07/2020, which is OK for the other visuals, but not for this one, where i want to show all values for 2020 per month for example:
The expected result should be like this, when the button is still set to "True" (because needed for other visuals on the same page):
Best regards,
Reinhard
Hi @waldnerr ,
You can try to set the 'Edit interactions' in the Format menu of the True/False slicer as 'None' of some specific visuals:
In this way, specific visuals will not affect by the slicer, hopes to help you.
