Folderpath and Name combo transformed into an URL downloads the document itself and not open it.
Need to get hold of document ids of the files
O Data feed connector seems not to be authenticating my corporate account for some reason.
Any alternatives

the quotes "" need to be around the URL, not the function, please refer to my post, why would you convert it to a table?
Hi @curiouspbix0 ,
Based on my test, If you want to open the file which stores in SharePoint folder with an URL link in power bi desktop, the URL link should be the shared link not like 'Foldpath + Name':
This link can be opened as an URL link in power bi desktop, the link like 'Filepath + Name' will download the file as you said previously. But it should be inconvenient because you should get the whole files share link manually as a table and import it into power bi desktop if you want to use URL to open it in power bi.
Best Regards,
Yingjie Li

Try this function
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerquery-m/sharepoint-contents
Thanks Marius, where would I invoke this fucntion in Power BI ?
Power Query Editor > Create Blank Query > Go to Advanced Editor and Paste the below
let
Source = SharePoint.Contents( sharePointPath )
in
Source
where sharePointPath needs to be replaced with your actual path https://companyname.sharepoint.com/My_Workspaces/Teams/Workspace_name/
Converting that to a table is not loading the contents but just the sharepoint path file name as one entry, what am I missing here ?
