Hi,
I am trying to use the same value field amount 'Total' on different pages within the one report. But each page is for a different region so the format for the 'Total' needs to AUD on one page and Euro or USD and so on. I can change the format for that 'Total' field but it changes it on every page. So if i select AUD format on page 2, it is AUD on all the pages. How can have the one field in different format on each page.
Thanks for any assistance.
@Anonymous Unfortunately you can't do that easily at the moment. What you could do is create a conditional column for each value in Region column like image below. Then in your chart put a textbox somewhere and use new column that has currency sign and highlight that to indicate. For total column you cannot specify anything and so it will not have any currency symbols. Finally put slicers for region on each page so you only see currency symbol for that region.
Personally I would not do this as its not ideal way but it will work if you absolutely need it.
If there is a better solution happy to hear it.
@Anonymous
In Power BI Desktop, the Format is applied on data field level, not the visual level. So no matter what visual renders this data field, it will use the specified format. So I think there's any better workaround than using a conditional column. I would recommend you submit a feature request about "visual format enhancement" on Ideas: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas
