When adding SharePoint folder as data source with SharePoint custom column type “Choice”, prompted with this error:
Our internal SharePoint support team indicated the following:
I have narrowed down what is causing the issue that you can connect the power BI data connection to (SharePoint Site 1) but not (SharePoint Site 2).
This is not caused by the permission as <user> already a site owner of both sites. I found that this is caused by a custom column in some of the document libraries under the (SharePoint Site 2). Power BI cannot parse the type “Choice” column in the document library for example “(Document Library)”.
Does anyone know of any work-around?
How do you connect to SharePoint folder?
"OData"? or "SharePoint folder"?
What URL do you put in SharePoint Folder/"OData" connector of Power BI Desktop?
If you use "OData" connector, try a workaround:
Create a blank query in Power BI Desktop, copy the following code into Advanced Editor of this blank query.
let Source = OData.Feed("URL")
