Shape map : legend data blanking out

Hello everyone,

I'm having an issue while plotting a shape map visual.

The objective is to color a map depending on areas. When using too many areas in the legend (less than 20 areas for 1216 locations in the map) at some point locations (which are indeed associated with an area) start blanking out as if there were no corresponding areas.

I thought of data limit but if I color it depending on "number of location id" (as an example) every location is colored.

I eventually found a similar topic from some years ago but apparently the problem resolved by itself after a few restart and I'm experiencing it for some weeks now (link below).

https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Shape-Map-Legend-issue-blanking-out/td-p/514272

You may find a pbix file containing a map displaying the problem and the necessary data to reproduce it again at :
https://www.udrop.com/file/71eM/TestCouvMinidata.pbix

To illustrate I added a slicer, you can see some data blanking out if about all the areas are selected.

Any help would be appreciated
Thanks in advance for your time.

It's a 'too many data points' issue (the 'i' appears under the visual).  I answered a similar post a few days ago and the documentation https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/visuals/power-bi-data-points#shape-map-preview says 1500 data points but you seem to have reached a limit at about 1100 which is a bit weird.

I hadn't noticed the "i" !!

Weird indeed, plus, as I mentionned, you can color the whole map if you put "number of areas" (or another data) in color saturation. Maybe it processes the number of points as "location"+"legend"+"color saturation" somehow...

Who knows, but at least I won't be looking for a way to fix it anymore.

Thanks a lot !
