Shape Map - Is there a way to control maximum zoom level

I have a map of small (~0.5 - 2 acre) polygons across Massachusetts and New York. I can zoom in some number of levels, but not  enough to be very useful. 

 

Is there a way to control how close you can zoom in or do I have to somehow segment my geospatial data?
