Setting the Default Value of a Slicer

The Regional Chart (first) feeds the second chart which displays by plant.  The second chart is quite busy with 37 plants showing initially.  I would like the Plant chart to display, as a default, only the plants for the Central Region.  I've tried applying a filter but then with I select another region, nothing displays in the Plant Chart.

Hi @Anonymous,

There is no option to set default value for a Slicer currently. You can vote the idea here and add your comments there to improve this feature for Power BI and make it coming sooner.Smiley Happy

There are almost 900 votes for this to be implemented and nothing has been done yet.

This implementation is very important for analysts.

We need this urgently, please.

Hey Lise,

Have you tried enabling 'forced select', under 'selection controls', in the formatting pane for your slicer visual?

Enabling forced select will help you keep an item in the slicer selected by default.

We can't set any default selection on slicer, but if u select some value on slicer and save it , that only shows while loading initially.

Perhaps I am missing something...but can you just set the slicer to the value you want, then save the report?
