Setting the Default Value of a Slicer based on the User's name/login

I have to 25 users that will review the dashboard, and I want each of them to be defaulted to his group/Office (Without secruity resrictions). I was wondering if there is a way to do that?

Hi @ahassan44

We have the same requirement and all solutions appear to be kludgy workarounds.

How did you eventially solve this?

I just asked the end users to use the slicer every time they log in as it is only one search slicer. Meanwhile, I changed the setting to make sure the dashboard doesn't save on the end-user selection.

The other solution would be if you create a RLS tables, and limit the end user view based on their name or GEO

Perhaps. You might be able to do something with a table of user names, SELECTEDVALUE and USERPRINCIPLE name. Kind of like a What If parameter.

Hi Greg,

I want to achieve this function. I have a user name column, whenever the user logs in to pbi only his name should be filtered and all other things should show up based on his username alone.

How to achieve this?

Please help.

Thanks
