Setting permissions for cloud input data access

Hi,

I'm working for 4 different departments and I'd like them to upload their input data files to a cloud area (OneDrive / Google Drive). I think Power BI can link into these but will I need to set up 4 different accounts to stop each department being able to see each others' data? Or can I have just 1 account and setup internal folders with permissions?

Thanks,

CM

Within Power BI, you can configure Row Level Security to have each user can only view their corresponding data. Please refer to articles below:

Regards,

Hi Simon,

Thanks but I think row level security is for controlling access on the visual output? I'm asking about controlling permissions of who can see what within the data input directory. Is there a way within OneDrive/dropbox/google drive to have everyone put their files in one directory (maybe one subfolder per department) but not be able to see other department's input files?

Thanks,

CM
