Setting default visualization formatting

Hello,

I created a benchmark report and got a chart that I really liked. I am in need of making the same chart numerous times and like to be able to upload new data into the same formatting for the y-axis, data colors and labels, the title and shapes. Am I able to do this without needing to adust formatting for each report?

Hi @bcastillo,

Based on different situation, you could use different solutions:
If you just want to keep the default format of a visual and add the update data, you could just copy your visual(Ctrl+C), and use the new data to replace it.

If all of your visuals are in the report and you want to modify the format of all visuals in the report, you could use the “Report Theme” function: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-report-themes

Thanks for your reply! I was able to pick the colors I wanted so I do not need to upload a new theme.

The report that I made is a line chart and I would like to make the same chart numerous times, with different data but with the same formatting that I applied to the visual such as the legend, the data colors, the y-axis, and data labels. Is there a way I can save only the formatting I created and then upload the new data without the need to format the chart each time I make a report? My goal is to upload data and have each report have the same type of formatting.

Hi @bcastillo,

In your situation, you could use the Power BI template, you could refer to this link:
