Hello,
I'm trying to set up a report where the slicer always defaults to the maximum value (latest month, year etc.) Based on what I've found so far, I know one way to do it is to create a calculated column where the max value is calculated and defined as "Latest Month" or the "Current Data" and then you select that value in the slicer as the default. Does anyone know of a way to defaulting the slicer selection to the max/latest date without doing a calculated column?
Is there any other way where if we have this:
Instead of this:
Thank you so much for all your help!
Hi newpbiuser01
Slicers "remember".
So if you build a silcer in Power BI with June ticked and publish it.
The published report will continue to show June when the report is refeshed for July, August, September.
It will stay on June for ever.
Hence the calculated table with "latest month" trick.
You cant build your desired effect using a slicer !
I try avoid having months as slicers, and show a tred graph instead with 12 rolling months
and a matric showing the current month if no month is selected
or the current month if a month is selected.
(using HASONEVALUE or ISFILTERED)
This works perfectly each time the report is refeshed.
The graph shows the last 12 months.
The matrix shows the current month.
But the user can click any month on the graph to display that month in the matrix.
I have helped you.
Please can you help me with kudos by clicking the thumbs up and accept as solution button.
Thank you !
