Searching and filtering Large dimensions

Good day forum
I am looking for ideas to help spead along search and filter options for a large dimension table.  We ahve the need to for our customer service team to look up customer transactions and reprint receipt details.  Our customer dimension contains roughly 50M rows.  Using the defailt slicer with the serach feature turned on is very slow as the slicer has to load before the search feature is availalble.

I have reviewed the Text Filter visual available from AppSource but this visual will not show how many customer records fit the criteria nor show the filtered list.

Does anyone have any other suggestions or solutions that have worked for you when dealing with large dimeninions and very granular data?

Thanks in advance for your support.

Hi @MattKarriker2 ,

How about Smart Filter by OKViz?

Smart Filter by OKViz

Or you can create a hierarchy to reduce the difficulty of filtering. For example, you can build a hierarchy based on gender and initials.

Assuming you are using Import mode for that dimension this will pretty much be your best performance. What capacity SKU are you running this on? How much memory does it have?

@lbendlin This dimension is set to dual as part of a composite model against Synapse.  Our datasets are running in P3 capacity, 100GB and our report files are running on a P2 capacity,50BG.

As @v-stephen-msft suggested you may need to find ways to get the cardinality levels down somehow before you search.  If you can't do that then you may need to look for other tools besides Power BI.
