Scatter plot dot size issue

I am working on a small dataset (98) on cars, and would like to do the size map to value of weight. But when I drag the weight to the size, the bubble is very large although I have already set the size to 0%, there is still overlapping from each other. How can I size bubble smaller?Screenshot (88).png

Thank you,

A colleague of mine Dan has found a solution to this as I was having the same problem.  The size property on the visual is your scaling factor, the marker size in the format menu is the start point.  What threw me and others above is that the marker size start point when using scaling is different vs not using scaling.  That makes little sense to me but anyway... the solution here is that you can actually set the marker size (the start point) to a negative amount, up to minus 30 (-30).  That should really help, it did for me 😊.

Hi @balabala,

For your scenario, I'm afraid that you may could adjust the start and end parameters of the X-Axis and Y-Axis to avoid the bubble overlap from each other.

Thank you for your suggestion. I tried but the result is not satisfied. The bubble is still overlapping, if I start from 0-5000, it will be narrow. if i start 1500-5000, some data will missing. but the bubble's size didn't change. Thank you anyway.

Hi @balabala,

If it is convenient, could you share your sample data which could reproduce your scenario so that I could copy and have a test.

Sure. Absolutely. I would like to set Weight as x axis, MPG as y axis, color mapping to Manufacturer, size mapping to Weight. And scales not from 0. Below is my sample dataset. Thank you for your help!

Hi @balabala

From your first post, it seems that you would like to do the size map to value of weight, but when you drag the weight to the size, the bubble is very large.

By my test, you could set the size like below so that the bubble will be smaller.

More details, you could refer to my attachment.

Hope this can help you!

Thank you so much. Yes, the bubbles become smaller but the problem is it makes bubbles have no evident difference between each other. I think the circle size should be scaling according to the weight. But, thank you anyway.
