Hi,
I have a Power BI report connected to Salesforce Objetcs. I have limited the fields I want to access through Power Query.
The report was working fine until today. I have created a new measure, and now I get mistakes on refreshing the report. I have deleted the measure but I keep gettin the same mistakes.
Please note that the power query works perfect, and updates in power query are done without issues.
But when I try to refresh the report I get this error. The field that is refered in the first message is not one of the fields selected in the query, and the column doesnt exist also because this table only have 53 columns:
Can you help me with this issue?
Thanks!!
Hi @STimon I know this reply is very late, but were you able to find a solution? I've used the Salesforce connector but I had some issues refreshing my report too. As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics (which doesn't have PBI as a destination, so you first have to export to Google Sheets and then export to PBI) and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:
After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:
There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.
Hi @STimon ,
"The field mentioned in error message were not expanded in my query, is a custom field that is not used anymore."
What does "This field is not expanded in the query" mean? In other words, due to the format of this field, it cannot be referenced normally in the query?
Best regards,
Lionel Chen

I've solved the issue, but I can't understand why it was caused:
The object I was getting the error was "Account", that was a related object to Opportunity. The field mentioned in error message were not expanded in my query, is a custom field that is not used anymore.
Because I was only using a couple of fields from this object, I have deleted them from the query and now the updates are working.
What I can figure out is why the report was working with this object related, and suddenly stopped working without any changes in Salesforce objet or the query...
