SSAS Tabular Field Descriptions not available in Power BI

In Power View, when I use an SSAS Tabular model as a data source and hover over fields in my field list the descriptions of the fields appear as pop-up help. When I do the same thing in Power BI the field names appear as pop-up help but not the descriptions. Is there a plan to add this Power View feature to Power BI in a future release?

I reproduced your scenario, the description field defined in Tabular model can't be displayed in Power BI. But it is supported in Power View. Please submit a feature request on Idea: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi
