Hello,
I am trying to use a date parameter to filter the data that is downloaded from a cube. They don't seem to be respected. I keep getting the entire cube download on my field selections.
Is it possible to filter SSAS to a specific year or month?
Solved! Go to Solution.
I have found a solution using the preview of a date field and other pertinent filters, then use the Edit button to edit the query down to a specific time period, then adding the rest of my fields. So yes, using MDX query to also define the time frame would work as well.
The over all issue is, I believe, that the parameters are not designed to control the data download. They are useful once you have a populated model to filter the data rows to what you want. I can then use Advanced Editor to modify the time period for download without having to rebuild the model.
@Anonymous,
You may try MDX query or Slicers.
