SAP Query - Change decimal precision of measure

Hi,

I am using a SAP BEx query to get my data by importing it to Power BI. Sadly for one of the measures the decimal precision in the query is set to 0 so I am getting the values without any decimal places. I am used from other products that I can overwrite said query setting. Is that possible in Power BI and if so, how?

I found that there is a setting "Precision.Decimal" in the advanced editor but either it isn't working or I am doing it wrong... Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance

Regards

Hi @Anonymous ,

How did you get data from sap data source? SAP connector or web connector?

According to your description, it sounds like connector recognize decimal fields as whole number and remove its decimal place.
You can try to modify query table first change type steps to use decimal format to receive these values.

Hello,

thanks for the answer. I am using the SAP .Net connector 3.0. Momentarily I am just working on my locale machine.

That measures setting in the query is set to 0 decimal places, that is correct. But I am used to (in SAP products) being able to change that afterwards in the front end.

If I understand you correctly I have to change the query settings or what do you mean by "modify query table"? So there is no way to change this setting with Power BI?

HI @Anonymous ,

AFAIK, power bi will use 'any' type to store table from datasource, I'd like to suggest you check first step(source) of query table to confirm if power bi has received decimal type records correctly.

If you can't find out decimal place of your numeric values, it means power bi cannot recognize decimal values from current connection mode.
If this is a case, you can try to use old connection mode to confirm if this issue is related to sap connector 3.0 mode.
