SAP Connector for Microsoft .NET 3.1 vs. 3.0 --> connection to PBI Desktop (Nov. 2022 version)

Hi team, 

I am trying to connect PBI to SAP BW: strictly followed MS/SAP links below, downloaded VER 3.1 instead of 3.0 connector as it is newer (I made sure my system is competible with 3.1). The installation was successful, however:

1) During installation, there was no prompt for "Optional setup steps" as MS link suggests (install to GAC), it was one-simple-click, then it's done

2) When I tried to connect to SAP BW, I received an error message as below, it seems PBI doesn't recognize VER 3.1 

Could someone please point me to the right direction? Do I need to revert back to 3.0? 

My system: 

PBI Desktop: VER Nov. 2022

.NET: VER 4.8.0

Visual C++ R-Package: 2015 ~ 2022

Update: I was able to solve the issue by installing SAP Connector 3.0! Apparently 3.1 connector doesn't work, probably because it is too new (released in Oct. 2022).
