Run macro in excel dataset from within Power BI

Hi Everyone,

I currently have an excel file that I can update by running a Macro. Now I might want to get this data in Power BI. Is it possible in Power BI Desktop to run the macro in the source excel file so the data is always up to date in Power BI (Without first having to open the excel file)? Or that I can Run the macro from within Power BI Desktop by pressing a button?

As far as I know what you describe is not possible. Here you can find a similar thread where the Information comes from comunity-support that xlsm is not (yet) supported.

A option might be to look into MS-Flow to use Power Automate to execute the Macro by using a button in Power BI (Link). But this only works in Power Automate for Desktop, so I am not sure if this is what you are looking for.
