Hi, I need to produce a table which identifies the type of information pack student applicants will receive, based on a variety of factors.
The current table looks as follows:
StudentCode | Subject | Offer | Acceptance |
Student1 | Maths | 0 | 1 |
Student1 | English | 0 | 0 |
Student1 | English | 1 | 0 |
Student1 | Geography | 1 | 0 |
Student2 | History | 1 | 0 |
Student2 | Science | 1 | 0 |
Student3 | Maths | 1 | 0 |
Student4 | Science | 0 | 1 |
The scenarios are:
Several applications for different subjects where an acceptance has been made (Student1)
Several applications where offers have been made to some or all (Student2)
Single application with an offer made (Student3)
Single application with an acceptance (Student4)
The final output should be as follows:
StudentCode | Subject | Offer | Acceptance | Pack |
Student1 | Maths | 0 | 1 | Maths |
Student1 | English | 0 | 0 | Maths |
Student1 | English | 1 | 0 | Maths |
Student1 | Geography | 1 | 0 | Maths |
Student2 | History | 1 | 0 | General |
Student2 | Science | 1 | 0 | General |
Student3 | Maths | 1 | 0 | Maths |
Student4 | Science | 0 | 1 | Science |
Several applications for different subjects where an acceptance has been made (Student1) - Pack for accepted subject delivered
Several applications where offers have been made to some or all (Student2) - "General" pack delivered
Single application with an offer made (Student3) - Pack for subject delivered
Single application with an acceptance (Student4) - Pack for subject delivered
Any help much appreciated! Thanks in advance.
Can there ever be more than one acceptance per student?
No, only ever one acceptance per student
