Retaining Database Case-sensitive format for certain columns

I have a column that brings in IDS in the format below.

a000xyz1

b000def3

C000lmn4

E000ijk5

I have noticed that POWER BI is correcting the first two rows as follows.

A000xyz1

B000def3

These are IDS I want to use for joins and I want POWER BI to bring in Data as is from the DB. Is there an option to ignore this.

Hi @Anonymous ,

AFAIK, power query table are case-sensitive, power bi table are not case-sensitive. When text value are converted from power query tables to power bi data model tables, it will modify case-sensitive values.

I haven't found any options to ignore these wrong convert operations.

Yeah its a bummer and caused headaches for alphanumeric ID fields which are used for joins. Hope they address this soon.
