Hi all,
I've created a measure which calculates the average commission by event consultant for the select period (using a slicer).
Avg % Commission Received = DIVIDE( [Total Event Value], [Total Commission Value], 0)
The results that I am getting back are like the examples below;
* 993.2% instead of 9.93%
* 1,173.5% insstead of 11.73%
I've been in to the Data tab on the left hand side and in the Modeling Tab across the top. Changed the number to 2. The format to Percentage and Data Category to Uncategorised.
Why are my results returning incorrectly?
Thank you for taking the time to read and comment on my post
Leigh
I have a feeling that the column in the "Modelling" tab view used in the measure [Total Commision Value] is formatted a percentage. I can't be sure without looking at it.
The result that you are getting is simply because the [Total Commission Value] is not what you expect but has been divided by 100 (for some reason)
You can either divide [Avg % Commission Received] by 100 to get the right result, or fix the underlying data.
As @v-jiascu-msft suggested earlier, without looking at the data model, it will be diffucult to confirm.
Thanks
Nishant
Hi Leigh,
It returned the wrong answer rather than too many decimal places.
