Report distributing with Row Level Security

Hi,

I have a dashboard and wanted to distribute to the dealers across entire country and a kind of report bursting with row level restriction. Dashboard should reach them either in the format of xls or pdf.

Is there any possibility to acheive this in Power BI.

Thanks,
Thimma

Hi @Anonymous,

Row-level security (RLS) with Power BI can be used to restrict data access for given users. Filters restrict data at the row level. In your scenario, you should configure roles in report in desktop. After publishing to service, add dealers into relative roles.

It is not available to attach xls or pdf file in a shared dashboard. Dashboard can only contains report tiles. Your recipients can export dashboard or report into different format on their side.

Thanks for the reply, all distributors doesn't have Power BI license. Only client have license and he wants to share the dashboard using RLS.

Hi @Anonymous,

RLS is a Pro feature. To use RLS in a report, both report owner and report recipient must have pro license. Otherwise, I'm afraid your requirement cannot be achieved now.
