Replace text in IF statement with Image URL in separate table

Hello,

Currently using a Multi-row card as a workaround to be able to display both text and a matching KPI image for Red, Amber and Green. The visual combines a two measures named File Size KPI (for text) and File Size KPI IMG (for matching image).

My questions are:

  1. Rather than a Multicard visual can I compile both Text and Image into a Card visual?
  2. Is there a way that I can just set the IF condition to look for "Red", "Amber" or "Green" in a referencing IconsKPI table and show the corresponding image? I have other report pages in which I want to use the same color coding and want to future proof it in case the naming or the images need to change.
  3. Finally, is there a way to control the size of the image being displayed?

Thank you very much in advanced for your help

J

Hi @jagostinhoCT

1. the default card visual only supports one row, so it is unable to combine both Text and Image into a Card visual.

2.It is possible.

You could refer to the threads "KPi image inside Matrix table".

You could find the image you use under the "Miscellaneous Technical (U+2300 to U+23FF)-> 9210" from List of Unicode Symbols.

3.

If you add a image in a matrix visual, it supports to control the size of the image being displayed.

See the similar thread.

Thank you @v-juanli-msft .

  1. Ok. Got it.
  2. I cannot use Unicodes since I want to use colors. AThe links on the threads are currently too complex for me to grasp. And ideally, I would reference the URL on a single table. It looks that even using UNICHAR entails me renaming them in all the different measures in case I want to change it. Am I right?
  3. Thank you again.

Hi @jagostinhoCT

Does my answer help you really?

If so, could you kindly aaccpted as a solution so that others may find it quickly?

If not, please let me know at your convenience.

My apologies for the late reply @v-juanli-msft .

Other things got in the way.

Thank you very much for your reply.

The way how you describe seems to work if the UNICHARs are in the same table that the Measure used as a Rule is.

I do not want a colored symbol for every row in the table.

I want a single colored symbol based on conditional statement that reads from different metrics.

I try to explain it in this image below.

Hi @jagostinhoCT

2.

"I cannot use Unicodes since I want to use colors. "

no, you could change color when you use Unicodes.

You could apply conditional formatting for that measure or column which uses Unicodes to create symbols.

Here is a simple article about how to use Unicodes in Power BI.
